Our Leadership
Thank you for your interest in Crescent Ridge Academy and welcome to our website. CRA offers programs for children ages 2 through 6th grade as well as a teacher education program for adults looking to earn their Montessori teaching credential.
At CRA, we believe all children should be provided an opportunity to grow and develop in a safe and secure environment that supports their unique developmental needs. Rooted in the Montessori Philosophy, our faculty prepare learning environments that spark a child’s innate interest and curiosity for learning based on Maria Montessori’s concept of sensitive periods. This environment supports a child’s development of independence, critical thinking, and problem solving based on their interaction with the environment. Opportunities for growth are encouraged through the Montessori work cycle where a child has the gift of time to work, practice, and hone their skills. Finally, the educational journey of the child is fostered by a partnership between the educator and the parents. This collaborative relationship is built on trust and mutual respect.
Our Teacher Education Program offers credentialing at both the Infant and Toddler as well as the Early Childhood Education levels. The schedule and design is flexible with working individuals and hybrid in nature with a combination of both in person and online learning.
As a non-profit organization, Crescent Ridge Academy is governed by a Board of Trustees. It is made up of no less than five trustees who serve three-year terms. Their election process follows the regulations set forth by the corporation bylaws. Trustees receive no salaries, free tuition, or other forms of compensation for their services as Trustees.
As Interim Head of School, I maintain primary responsibility for the management of daily operational aspects of the school , while the Board of Trustees is responsible for establishing the policies, procedures, and standards within which the business of the corporation is conducted. The Board of Trustees represents a broad constituency that includes parents, school alumni, and community professionals. At no time can the board be composed of a current parent majority.
If you are interested in learning more about our programs, please do not hesitate to contact us. We look forward to hearing from you.
