Colleen Sweeney

Colleen Sweeney came to Crescent Ridge Academy at the start of the 2023-2024 school year to support the school’s self study process for reaccreditation through the American Montessori Society. In January 2024, she was promoted to the Head of School role. Prior to CRA, Colleen spent eight years teaching 3-6 year olds at Pleasant Ridge Montessori and Sands Montessori in Cincinnati Public Schools. Colleen also taught Montessori methods courses and supervised student teachers at Xavier University for five years. Colleen loved her role at Xavier because she had the opportunity to visit classrooms and work with teachers at Montessori schools all over the city! Colleen also attended Xavier University as a student and holds an undergraduate degree in Montessori Education and a graduate degree in Reading Education.

Colleen and her husband, Brian, live in Madeira, OH with their three young children. Colleen serves on the Board of Trustees at The New School Montessori, is an active member of her church community and enjoys organizing activities in her neighborhood. Most of Colleen’s free time is spent building new magna-tile and lego creations and reading with her boys. Colleen and her family also love cheering on the Xavier Musketeers, spending summer days at the lake, and exploring all that Cincinnati has to offer!
