Known first as Northern Kentucky Montessori Center (NKMC), founders Kitty and Dan Salter established our academy in 1967. After five years, they moved from Fort Wright to Fort Mitchell, building a classroom onto their new home on Beechwood Road. As the first school of its kind in Fort Mitchell, NKMC graduated hundreds of children who are leaders in the Northern Kentucky community today. We moved to our current location in Crescent Springs, Kentucky in 2004.
Since then, our Academy has been expanding its educational offerings and student population at an increasing rate. With the acquisition of the Greater Cincinnati Center for Montessori Education in 2019, our support of prospective Montessori educators and the local community has continued to grow. In 2021, student population has grown by 30%.
As of November 2021, we unified our child and adult education organizations as Crescent Ridge Academy (CRA).We continue to celebrate the unique attributes of every student, free from the constraints of traditional education. Here, we are guiding the future of global citizens, fostering a unique and inclusive learning community for students, teachers, and prospective teachers.
