February 26 – March 4, is Montessori Education Week, a week to celebrate the benefits of the Montessori method, a child-centered approach developed in the early 1900’s by Italian physician Maria Montessori.
Based on her observations of children and the manner by which they learn, Italian physician and educator Dr. Maria Montessori developed an innovative philosophy of education in the early 1900s that continues to be used in public and private schools around the world.
There are at least 5,000 Montessori programs in the United States, including an estimated 30 serving children in Kentucky; and Crescent Ridge Academy is proud to be the only AMS accredited school in Northern Kentucky.
